Volunteer Opportunities
Denver Open Media is very much volunteer driven. We would be nowhere without our volunteers and we are always looking for talented, interested, and hardworking people to help fulfill our mission. Examples of our needs are listed below. No matter what your skill level and interest, we can almost certainly find a place for you in our family!
We have four (4) main categories of volunteer opportunities:
1. Administrative Volunteer
Here Are Some Examples of Administrative Volunteer Tasks:
1. Content gathering- solicit PSA's from other non-profits that we can broadcast
2. Research & create cross-links with other websites
3. Create mass mailings to previous members, donors, other non profits
4. Flyer for classes and events, email / web post announcements
5. Internet research for grants
2. DOM Special Events volunteers
a.) Uncertified volunteers: greet people, booth/table attendant, drink/food attendant, manage volunteers, etc.
b.) Certified volunteers: stage setup/take-down, grip, run cameras, floor directing, etc.
3. Member Producer production volunteers
If you are a member and have taken our certification classes, you are welcome to volunteer on other Member's studio or field productions. You can check the bulletin boards around the station for flyers asking for volunteers, or ask our Station Director, Ann Theis, for the names and contact information for any Member that may be looking for volunteers to help on their production.
4. Create Your Own: Needs Assesment within the Organization
Meet with a member of our staff to develop a plan of action that fits within the organization's current needs. Supervision will be minimal but clear goals with deadlines will be developed & managed.
If any of this sounds interesting to you, and you would like to get involved with DOM as a volunteer, please email us at: lynne@openmediafoundation.org
