All aspects of the new voting scheme are working as promised, including the "Karma" feature that multiplies your voting power. Give it a try and watch what happens (to your votes) when you vote for other shows in addition to your own!
Hey voters! check the blogs and weigh in, talk about making something so simple so complicated!!! Some people probably did "game" the votes, with so few people even watching these channels- no wonder.
I think this is the specific blog post you are referring to. The only people this is really more complicated for are the people who were gaming the system. It isn't a question of "probably" when it came to gaming. I deleted almost 10,000 ratings from just 10 IP addresses. These people would vote the same videos up every day. Some started voting other videos down in the same theme block down as well. Allowing these people to continue voting like this unchecked meant that an individual rating a video had little to no impact. New videos had little hope of catching up to the videos voted up by users voting repeatedly from anonymous IP addresses.
The changes we've made give more power/control to individuals who create an account and are actively contributing. More complicated? Maybe, but we're already seeing more individual authenticated users voting actively trying to earn karma and and a much more dynamic list of top rate videos
Johnnie J.I clicked on Aug. 27, to see my listing but still don't see it.
I must be doing something wrong not to see what time my shows are playing!!!!!
